Privacy Policy

This Policy explains what personal data TradeRadar processes, for what purpose, and what rights you have. We take data minimization seriously: we collect only what is necessary to provide the Service.
1. Data we process
Account data: your email and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Product usage data: the alerts and watchlists you configure (e.g. chokepoint, news topic, webhook).
Technical data: IP address and request metadata, used for security and to apply usage limits (rate limiting). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
2. Why we use it
To create and manage your account, authenticate your session, send the alerts you requested, keep the Service secure and comply with legal obligations. The main legal basis is performance of the contract (providing the Service) and our legitimate interest in security.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that run the Service: hosting infrastructure (AWS) and the email provider for alerts and account emails. These providers process the data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
Trade data sources (IMF PortWatch, USITC, etc.) are read-only: we do not send them your personal data.
4. International transfers
Infrastructure may be located outside your country (e.g. the United States). We take reasonable measures to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.
5. How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete it, it is removed (except what we must retain by legal obligation). News headlines are automatically pruned after 180 days.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, and request a copy. To exercise these rights, contact us at soporte@traderadar.app. You can also delete your alerts at any time from your account.
7. Security
We use HTTPS site-wide, store passwords with hashing (bcrypt), apply usage limits against abuse, and take encrypted database backups. No system is completely infallible, but we work to reduce risks.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage for your session (access token) and a cookie to remember your language. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
9. Changes and contact

We minimize data: only what the Service needs to work.
